Jefferson Softball - Home Workout Program
March 29, 2020
With everyone sheltered in place and continuing distance learning until at least May 4th, I would recommend that each of our athletes do what they can to stay in softball shape. I realize many of you are receiving advice and instructions from your club coaches which is fine, but we want to provide some guidance for all our Jefferson players. Angie and I have developed a workout routine that each of you can partake in from your home. I would ask though that you follow a couple of rules:
- Don’t do the workouts if you are not feeling well; you should be 100% healthy before returning to these drills.
- Be smart, do your swings in an open area away from others; know if anyone else is in the room. If we are asking you to use a wall; it should be a block wall, usually found in basements or garages.
- Do not call your teammates and get together to do the workouts. If you need someone to play catch with, do front toss with, give you grounders, it should be someone in your household.
Here is the link to the recommended workout schedule:
In addition, one of the best things you can be doing right now is working on the mental aspects of the game. Below are some video links from Amanda Scarborough that I really like. Amanda played college softball at Texas A&M and was a two-time All-American and the 2005 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year:
